Childhood Tumour Trust

Bringing people together

Camp

We are proud to offer a 4-day residential camp for young people aged 12-17, hosted by a regulated activity provider. Our camp provides a safe and supportive environment where teens can engage in a variety of activities. It’s a place to make new friends who just ‘get it’, learn new skills and have loads of fun. Join a community that truly understands you and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Please email camps@childhoodtumourtrust.org.uk for more details.

‘I like camp because it allows you to be yourself.’
I like camp because I make lots of new friends.’
‘Camp allows me to do the things I never would have on my own.’
‘I don’t have to fake a smile at camp; it’s real.’

Days out

Days out

Join us for unforgettable family days out with Childhood Tumour Trust! Our events at Alton Towers, Chessington, and other local venues offer a much-needed break from hospitals, scans, and worries. These outings are a chance for the whole family; parents, siblings and children with NF1 to connect with others who truly understand. Enjoy a fun-filled day, build lasting friendships and be part of a supportive community.

Online activites

Our online sessions offer a fun and interactive way for NF Warriors of all ages to connect and learn new skills from the comfort of home. Join our regular sessions, like cookery, arts and crafts, and sign to songs, or participate in special events throughout the year, such as ceramics and virtual parties. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to meet others in the NF community, chat, and enjoy shared experiences while learning new skills.

“Without the Zoom activities, Beth would feel isolated and alone, not having friends that understand both her condition and difficulties. These sessions have given her real, tangible life skills, whether learning to bake and cook or being creative in her own home.”
“Freya loves art and has really enjoyed the craft sessions. It has kept her in touch with other children and opened the way to very easy, relaxed conversations about NF1. She is coming to understand the condition and now knows others who are in the same boat. She has started to draw cafe au lait on her characters, which shows she is starting to process it all.”

YAG and the 16–30 Community Group

Our Youth Advisory Group (YAG) is made up of young people aged 16-30 who are passionate about supporting the Youth Ambassadors in a more informal role. They collaborate to help plan and run youth activities, offering valuable input and assistance behind the scenes. This group plays a crucial part in ensuring our youth programs are fun, inclusive and impactful, all while contributing to the success of our Youth Ambassadors and the wider NF1 community. Our 16-30 Facebook community group is a supportive space for young adults with NF1 to connect, share experiences and find encouragement from each other.
